We look at the metal and the stones separately. The metal is tested and weighed like any gold or silver. Small accent diamonds and colored stones usually add little to an offer, because removing and reselling them costs more than they're worth.
Larger center stones are a different story. A well-cut diamond of a meaningful size is evaluated on its own, and a grading report from GIA or a similar lab makes that faster. If you have one, bring it.
