Most coins fall into one of two groups. Bullion coins and bars, like Eagles, Maple Leafs and Krugerrands, are valued mainly on their gold or silver content and that day's market price. Collectible coins can be worth well above their metal, depending on rarity, date and condition.
Please don't clean old coins before bringing them in. Cleaning leaves fine scratches that collectors can spot, and it can cut a collectible coin's value sharply.

Our store at 780 Sutter Street is a few blocks from Union Square and the Financial District, so plenty of customers come in on a lunch break. Larger collections take longer to go through, so for those we suggest booking a time.
