Live spot prices for gold and silver, and a calculator to estimate the metal value of your own pieces before you sell.
Type in today's spot price from the chart, then the weight and purity. The result is the melt value: the pure metal in your piece at today's price.
Melt value: fill in the fields
This estimates the pure metal in your piece, not an offer. Offers are made after testing and weighing in store.
The spot price is the market price for one troy ounce of pure metal, traded worldwide through the day. Melt value is the pure metal in your piece multiplied by that price. Every buyer's offer is a share of melt value, because the metal still has to be tested, refined and sold on.
When you compare offers, ask each buyer for the weight, the karat and the share of melt value they're paying. Numbers you can check beat a vague quote every time.
